G2G-VENTURE

If you want ballistic protection, comfort and style, but you routinely trash and lose expensive glasses, you should check out Venture Gear Tactical’s products. Shown above, left to right, their Drone and Semtex glasses and Wolfhound tactical goggles exceed Military Ballistic Fragmentation Standard MIL-PRF-32432. Lenses of the glasses are 2mm optical-grade polycarbonate and the goggles have a Dual-Pane Thermal Lens System with an outer lens of 1.8mm polycarbonate plus an inner acetate lens to prevent fogging.

All are treated with an anti-fogging compound and hard-coated for scratch resistance. They provide 99 percent UVA and UVB protection and are offered in clear or gray lenses, and the glasses are also in silver mirror. Their clarity seems equal to more expensive glasses.

We found the TPR (thermoplastic rubber) frames and nosepieces to be comfortable and secure, and at night, the clear-lens models didn’t pick up excessive glare from bright lights. Included are soft neoprene zip cases and microfiber cleaning cloths. Prices vary online, but the glasses are running under $30 and the tactical goggles under $50.
