Vertx®, a subsidiary of the Fechheimer Brothers Company, was founded over a decade ago in response to a federal agency’s need for low-profile, functional tactical pants. Leveraging their long history of crafting military uniforms, Vertx developed highly discreet tactical pants and later expanded to low-profile clothing, bags, and packs. Their bags and packs are complemented by a range of accessories that enhance storage capabilities, allowing users to adapt their gear to their specific needs.
Vertx Tactigami
Tactigami® is a patented accessory line by Vertx that provides a fully customizable organization system for their bags and packs. Tactigami, an apt term coined from “tactical” and “origami,” comprises a variety of products, including holsters, magazine pouches, and organizers. Vertx is offering new additions to the Tactigami line this year. Vertx provided me with samples of each of the new additions for evaluation.
Tactigami is made from Velcro® One-Wrap® material. These accessories can be affixed to any hook-and-loop surface in any position, allowing for a completely personalized arrangement of essential items. This system can also be used in a variety of places, besides bags and packs, including your car, gun safe, or anywhere Velcro can be applied.
Velcro One-Wrap is a single piece of material with hook on one side and loop on the other. It can be wrapped around objects and then attached to itself for a secure hold. Velcro® ONE-WRAP is reusable and adjustable. You can bundle, manage, and organize items with One-Wrap. It can be cut without fraying.
Weapon/Kit Retention
The Weapon/Kit Retention system Tactigami provides a range of ways to retain holsters and weapons. Building on the success of the Belt Adapter Panel straps, it offers more options to securely hold your gear, ensuring your tools are ready for use.
BAP Straps – both Small and XL. They are designed to let belt-mounted accessories be used in bags. They can also secure long guns in cases.
There are two new additions to this line. The BAP Strap—Small holds items like pens, pencils, markers, pen lights, and decompression needles. It comes in a two-pack. The BAP Strap—XL is for larger items, such as rifles/PCCs, magazines, portable chargers, medical kits, suppressors, compact concealed carry holsters, and similar-sized items.
Kit Organization
The Kit Organization Tactigami is a system that simplifies organizing essential items in your gear without requiring you to rummage through your bag.
MAK (MAGS and Kit) Band Split and MAP (MOLLE Adapter Panel) Admin Double pouches.
Five new products have been added to the Kit Organization Tactigami line. The Modular Laptop Sleeve can hold a laptop or tablet up to 15″ in size. The MAK (MAGS and Kit) Band Split is designed for smaller items like flashlights, tools, pens, or batteries. The MAP (MOLLE Adapter Panel) Admin Double features a dual-compartment design for efficient storage and easy access. The Small Stretch Mesh Pocket is suitable for smaller items like wallets, while the Large Stretch Mesh Pocket offers more storage space for larger items like passports and small notebooks.
Pack Organizer Zipper Pouches
Small, Medium, and Large Pack Organizer zippered pouches. The Small Pack Organizer comes in two-packs.
The new Pack Organizer Zipper Pouches are a practical addition to your organizational system. They come in Small, Medium, and Large sizes, offering flexibility in arranging your items. These pouches are designed to hold items of different sizes and have loop-lining on both sides for easy integration with Tactigami or hook-backed items. You can personalize them further with color-coded zipper pulls in red, blue, and green to help identify your organizer.
Rapid Access Pull Tabs
Even though they are not Tactigami per se, the new Vertx Rapid Access Pull Tabs and Rapid Access Pull Tab Kit deserve mention too. This system, available in five colors, aids in organization and compartment identification for various needs. The zipper pulls can be removed and re-attached to any bag in your kit. Made of durable Duraflex® polymer technology, each pack includes eight pulls of a single color.
Their Modular Laptop Sleeve fits laptops up to 15”.
The Rapid Access Pull Tab Kit is an adjustable zipper puller system designed for quick access. It includes a Full-size and a Half-size Rapid Access Pull Tab, along with two Duraflex® polymer zipper pullers. It is used in conjunction with the Rapid Access Pull Tabs.
The BAP Strap can be used to secure many belt-mounted accessories and handguns in bags and packs.
My Thoughts
The Vertx Tactigami organization system is a major step forward in organizing gear. Its innovative design and adaptability allow for a personalized approach to gear storage, catering to a variety of needs. There is really nothing else quite like it on the market. Whether for professional or for personal use, Tactigami provides a streamlined system for organizing and accessing essential items. It is very simple to configure and use. Re-configuring my packs or bags to meet changing needs takes only minutes, if not seconds. I have been employing several of the other Tactigami products for a couple of years. They have performed well and continue to do so.
Vertx Tactigami BAP Strap – XL is being used to secure a carbine in a Vertx pack. The BAP features a quick-release tab.
The integration of Tactigami with Vertx bags and packs further enhances its utility, making it a valuable addition to any gear setup. The new additions further expand on its capabilities. The system exemplifies how innovative problem-solving can lead to improvements in tactical gear, offering a solution that is as versatile as it is effective. As with all of the Vertx products I have used or examined, the new Tactigami products are very well made.
